Getting started
How do I join?
Go to Start on the web. You'll write your first post in a few taps, add your name (and your business, if you have one), then sign in. It's free.
Can I use the same account on the web and iPhone?
Yes. It's one account. Sign in with the same login in the browser and in the iPhone app (coming soon) and you'll see the same posts, inbox and profile.
Can I look around without signing in?
The board is for members, so you'll need to sign in to browse posts. Anyone can open a post someone shared with them.
Posting
What should I post?
Something you're looking for or something you're selling or offering. For example, "Looking for a bookkeeper who works with contractors" or "Fresh sourdough for sale this Saturday". Clear posts get the right people interested.
Can I add a photo or a link?
Yes. A link shows as a preview with the page's title, summary and picture instead of the bare address. YouTube and Vimeo videos play right in the post. Other video links, like TikTok, open on their own site.
How do I delete a post?
Open your post and use the delete (trash) button.
I'm interested and your inbox
What does "I'm interested" do?
It tells the author you can help or want what they're offering, and puts the post in your inbox so you can message each other privately.
Where do I see who's interested in my posts?
In your inbox (the Inbox tab). Each conversation stays with the post it's about.
Organizations
How do I show up on my organization's page?
Add your business name to your profile. Everyone who names the same business appears together on that organization's page in the Orgs tab, along with their posts.
My organization shows up twice with different spellings.
Use the same name as your colleagues on your profile. If an organization needs merging or renaming, email info@taliferro.com.
Your profile and account
How do I change my name, business or intro?
Open your profile (the person icon) to edit your display name, business, location, tagline, intro and website.
How do I delete my account?
In the iPhone app, open the Me tab, then TODD Account, then Delete Account. On the web, email info@taliferro.com from the address you signed up with and we'll delete it for you.
Safety
How do I report a post or block someone?
In the iPhone app, every post's menu has Report, Block and Hide Post, and you can report a comment by pressing and holding it. On the web, email info@taliferro.com with a link to the post. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
Why does a post say "Sensitive content"?
Every post is screened automatically. Posts that may be inappropriate are covered with a warning, and you choose whether to view them.
Community guidelines
SayIt is for real businesses and the people who need them. To keep it that way:
- Be respectful. No harassment, hate, threats, or personal attacks.
- No objectionable content. No sexual, violent, or illegal content, and no spam or scams.
- Be yourself. Don't impersonate people or businesses.
- Report and block. Report posts and comments that break these rules and block anyone abusive.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Every post is screened automatically, reports are reviewed within 24 hours, and offending content is removed and its author banned.
